Over the years, Ionia has partnered with many Central Kenai Peninsula social service organizations, grass roots groups, and state government on innovative projects and coalitions.

  • Ionia residents are founding members of the Kenai Local Food Connection, whose message is: “Eat Local Foods. Nourish Our Community.”  We organize educational fun events promoting healthy local food.

  • Ionia partners with Canyon Arts School of Natural Building, Econest and other master builders to host natural building workshops, and volunteering opportunities for learning how to build beautiful efficient long lasting homes and heaters with local, natural materials.

  •  An Ionia resident serves on the board of  Peninsula Community Health Services, one of the first clinics in the nation to bring primary and behavioral health care together under one roof.

  • An Ionia resident serves on the board of the Alaska Peer Support Consortium, whose mission is “To develop, grow and nurture peer support & peer run services, Alaska style!”

  • Ionia residents are founding members of the Choices Board of Directors – an Anchorage program which offer non-coercive, alternative treatment for mental illness.

Ionia has received many grants from private, state, federal and faith-based organizations over the years.  The following funders have recently contributed towards Ionia:
